Dear Richard, My name is Russell Crane. I live in Mount Bethel, PA, but I was born in Passaic, NJ. I grew up in and around Bergen and Hudson counties. I have just started conducting family research on this website and on Ancestry.com. ========== On May 10, 2001, you posted the following message to Genealogy.com's forum: Looking for info My grandfather was a Fredrick Robert Pressler born in 1890 in Jersey City NJ. His father Frederick Charles was born in Port AU Prince Haiti, his parents were a Fred A Pressler and Mary Elizabeth Robertakus. ========== It appears that your grandfather's sister Irene A. Pressler was my great grandmother. Irene's father was Frederick Charles Pressler and her mother Mary E Robertakus. Irene A. Pressler's one son Robert Liddell Crane was my grandfather, and his son was my father Robert Stanford Crane. Anyway, that's my part. I am compiling some family tree information on the Pressler and McMillan sides. I am not sure what you have so far, but I'd be happy to share. (Let me tell you, getting information from my Dad's side of the family was not easy. Thank God for public records and sites like this one!) For example, from the 1880 Jersey City, Nj census I found out that Frederick A Pressler, 52, was listed as an Interpreter (I can only suspect German as he was born there). Mary Pressler, 51, was listed as a homemaker. Their daughter Fannie, 20, was listed as "at home". Their son Frederick Charles, 17, was called "Fritz", and he was noted to be an "Apprentice Diamond Setter". Their were two other siblings: Carl, 15; and Maud, age 9. I will be happy to send you a link to my Ancestry.com site, as soon as I can figure out how to make the family tree public. Hope to hear from you soon. Sincerely, Russell L. Crane (great grandson of Irene Pressler) Mount Bethel, Northampton County, Pennsylvania 570-897-6585 Notify Administrator about this message?
