I have your Charles Press in my Family Tree. He was born in 1920, died in 1940 in NY His wife was Anita Wells. I think I have her dates too, but not with me.
His parents were:
Charles Herbert Press, b. 1883 on Ontario, Canada, d. in NY
Lanore Cafferty
His Press grandparents were:
James Press, b. 1833 in Ontario, d. 1892 in Ontario
Caroline Priddle
His Press great-grandparents were:
Simon Press, b 1801 in NY, d. 1869 in Ontario
Sarah Waltenburger
His Press great-great-grandparents were:
William Press, b. 1760 in CT, unknown dod or place
Eleanor Remington
I have the dates for the women too, but not with me right now. William Press fought in the Revolutionary War on the American side and then, for some unknown reason, moved with most of his family, to near Toronto, Canada.
I am planning to put my tree on ancestry.com within a few weeks. It contains over 2,600 people, including a lot of Presses! If you think you should be one of them or if you have information that I might need, please let me know.
