Hey Michael The David Presnell you asked about was the first son of Peter and Susan Teague Presnell. I am not sure of the county because of the changes that was taking places at the time but they lived at present day Warrior Creek,Boone Gap road,Alexander County. At that timw it was Kings Creek distric,Burke County. He was born in 1835.Moved to yancey co.Late 1840s.Lived in the Brush Creek distric.Green Mountain.September 11,1856 David married Elizabeth (Bettie)and lived next to John Presnell at Day Brook in Yancey County. They had one son James David, born March 10,1861. David died December 1, 1862 at Deep creek Gap (record family had said Cumberland Gap) Tennessee of penumonia and meseales.Acording to that record which I don,t have he was in company C. A younger brother , James Peter also was killed while serving with the 29th.Another brother John served with the home guard.I hope we are talking about the same David.I am not sure what the A in his name stood for.I was not aware he had a middle name. Have a great one.Lowell One interesting thing about David.Onetime I saw a roster of names of the people that searched for Dr Mitchell with Big Tom.He was on it.Someone gave thanks to the boys from down on the river that came to help.
