Hi Jim, thanks for the input. The family lines I have found (my mother's father, GF, GGF, GGGF & GGGGF) were exclusive to Canada prior to that they were back in England, specifically Brenchley on Kent, if I recall correctly. The spelling has always been Presnail, but as I go off searching other tangents the other spellings pop up. My guess the changes are caused by illiteracy (gee I hope I spelled that correctly) and immigration officials spelling the names phonetically during times of registration etc.
