Here is information I have collected over the years, not having personally researched in records.
Aner Tester Rominger included in her History of the Presnell Family.. James Presnell IV b. 18 Feb. 1840 married third to Nancy Trivette.
James (Monroe) Presnell IV was the son of James Presnell III b. 1798 or 1796 and Susan Benfield.
Nancy Trivette was the daughter of James Wilburn Trivett
and Elizabeth Shupe.
James Wilburn Trivette the son of Soloman Trivett and Elizabeth Hartley.
Ray Hicks, the storyteller from Beech Mountain, who's ancestor was also Nancy Trivette, was the subject of a
PBS special. Cherokee heritage was mentioned in regard
to her, I believe, but as far as proof, I don't know where one would find that. I do not have any information on the Shupe line.
