Spring the names you cite are in 3 of the main Preble branches (sons of Abraham "The Immigrant" 1603/4-1663):
Abraham (1673-1723/4); Stephen (c.1646-c.1696) and Nathaniel (1648-1691/2).

Lets start with Abraham and Hannah (Sayward)Preble. They had 8 ch to include Samuel (1699-1746) who married Sarah Muchmore. They had 5 ch to include Samuel (b.1726) who married Mrs Susanah Remick. They had 2 ch to include Samuel (1785-1841) who married Sally Savage. They had (at least) 4 sons to include Washington (b. >1805), Charles S (b.1819), Andrew (b. 25 Sep 1823) and James Orne (b. 06 Nov 1832).

If we look in the Nathaniel and Priscilla (Main) Preble branch we also find a Charles, Washington and Andrew born much earlier. Capt George Henry Preble in his "First Three Generations of Prebles in America" 1850 (can be purchased from NEHGS in Boston for $65) states in a footnote on page 42 "In 1850 there were residing in York but 11 males of the name of Preble aged over 20 years (to include) Charles, Washington, Andrew, brothers, sons of Samuel, and also descendants of Capt Edward, the grandson of Nathaniel".
Therefore we have: (the 1st no. is the generation and the 2d no., is the sequence of birth within that generation):
2.8 Abraham "The Immigrant" (1603/4-1663) and Judith Tilden
3.5 Nathaniel (1648-1691/2 and Priscilla Main
4.1 Abraham (1673-1723/4) and Susanah Sayward
5.8 "Capt" Edward (b.1702) and Hannah Simpson
6.1 Nathaniel (b.1723/4) and Deborah Hatch
7.7 Samuel C. and Tabitha Preble they had 9 ch to include Charles, Washington and Andrew.
The Abraham above (4.1) had 4 wives to include his distant cousin Mary Preble. He and Mary had 11 ch to include Hepzibah, Joseph, Ebenezer and 2 Pauls, but no "William".

Finally, the Stephen (b. ca 1646) Preble branch:
3.4 Stephen (b. ca 1646) married Rachel Main had 3 ch
4.3 Stephen (b.15 Jan 1692/2) married Hannah Weare had 6 ch
5.1 Stephen (b. 13 May 1724 d. 15May 1724)
5.2 Hannah (b. 29 Apr 1725) married 1st John Baska 2d John Young
5.3 Lydia (b. 14 May 1727)
5.4 Stephen (b. 01 Jul 1729)
5.5 Peter (b 26 Jan 1731/2)had 8 ch
5.6 Phebe (b. 10 Oct 1736)

Hope the above is helpful.

Charlie Preble
