Warren:

The information on John Pratt, Jr. being in Washington County, NC/TN has thrown a wrench into a chapter of my book. John Pratt received a 100 acre land grant from NC in Washington County on 6 January 1795 adjoining Obediah Neal. He is in the 1798 Washington Co., TN tax list and on 4 January 1809 sold 70 acres in Washington County, TN to Amon Haile adjoining Obi Neal, Shadrack Hail and Mr. Crawford.

From 1798, in Greene County, TN, James Pratt, Sr. (from Rockingham Co., NC), interacts with Obediah Neill (who marries Elizabeth Pratt in 1799)all the way through 1816. There is a John Pratt whom I believe is one of the sons of James Pratt, Sr. in these Greene County, TN lists.

I had thought the Washington County, TN and Greene County, Tennessee John Pratts were one and the same man but now I am not so sure.

I have a lot more on the Bedford County, VA Pratts but have never linked them with my other lines. Please let me know whether you have run across any connection.

Thanks.

Eddy Pratt
