Hello Carol:
My greatest grand-daddy Pratt in Canada was Henry William (or was it William Henry?)Pratt, who I think got here in 1875 along with a brother named Stephen, a man described as a 'gentleman'. He married Ann McKillop and they had numerous progeny, I think eight kids in all.He settled in Simcoe County, that's near Barrie, Ontario as a farmer, although by all accounts he was not a very good one, preferring the occupation of philandering instead. In some old reference or another, I recall that he was said to have lived in a peculiar place called 'South Boarhunt' in the south of England.Would you know how to commence finding his origins in that peculiar little place?I'm fairly clear on who all those kids were and whom they married; its prior to his coming to Canada that is unclear.
Kind regards,
George Pratt
