Hi everyone,
I have been asked many times over the years about Eaton Water House (Wilts.,England), where Thomas Prater (Prather)
was born in 1604 (came to America in 1622) and what I found
when researching in England back in the late 1960's and early 1970's.
I found the old site where the house stood but had been replaced years ago .... and today there is house standing on the same site that dates back in the late 1700's early
1800's.
It is known today, as it was back then, as "Water Eaton House" but most of us know it as "Eaton Water House".
It is still a very productive farming area just as it was when John Prater, Esq. lived there in the early 1500's.
Located in Northern Wiltshire near where the Thamas River branches with the Isis.
It is also near Latton Manor where John's son, George Prater, Esq. lived and not far from Inglesham where John
is buried.
I thought you would enjoy seeing a photo of what the house
that stands there today looks like and farm land around it.
