The Hat

This hat was worn by an American soldier during the Spanish American War. His name is Ransom Earl Gove, born on September 15, 1879 to Charles Francis Gove and Anna M Foley in Tomah, Wisconsin. USA.

My interest in Ransom Earl Gove came about because of the Journal that he kept while participating in the Puerto Rican Campaign as a member of Company K of the Third Regiment of Wisconsin Volunteers. But itís not what he wrote; itís where he wrote it. He wrote about his adventure on his hat.
