My grandmother Maria Torre was born in Lihue, Kauai on 4/1/06 to Elias Torre and Petronilla a Ponte.
Upon researching Petronilla a Ponte in rootsweb.com, I came up with Petronila Aponte born about 1887 in Barranquitas, Puerto Rico to (father) Agustin Aponte born about 1852 in Corozal, Puerto Rico and (mother) Dominga Santiago born about 1860.
I researched Corozal, Puerto Rico and it shows a connection with Barrancas, Barranquitas, Puerto Rico. The town Barranquitas was founded in 1803 by Antonio Aponte Ramos.
Any help would be great!
