Hi Barbara,
Welcome to geneology search. It's a long and tedious process for most of us who are Puerto Ricans. Our parents tend to not be very good historians and, since our heritage combines multiple races from multiple countries, it can be exhausting.
I don't know Ballardo but, I don't know my grandmother, Juana Fonseca's, siblings. I can tell you that she was fair skinned, blonde and blue eyed and presumably, originally from Spain.
I'll ask my Dad about Ballardo.
