Bob, this forum just recently brought to my attention by an Aunt (Mary of NC).My Grandfather, William Hall Poynton, may have a connection to Longford. He was born 5-31-1826 to John Poynton and Mary Hall (b. 1804).Letters detail a large family w/7 sons and some daughters. They were Catholic (Mary may have been convert).Brothers named John & James (unconfirmed) came to USA with William Hall Poynton, wife Ann McKeon, mother Mary Poynton, and 2-3 kids about 1858 (or no later 1862), located to Western New York.
If you know religion and/or sibling names for Susan it would help.
I also have possession of many records from Kenagh on the Poynton family that were Church of Ireland (protestant). The name of Thomas doesn't surface, but the time frame is spot-on with birth of Susan, so I would say there has to be a connection if she was from Longford. I have several excel files on lineage, so maybe connect with me on answers to the religion/sibling questions, then I'll try to get files to you.
