I am the great,great,great,great granddaughter of Coonrod. Coonrod's brother, Richard Poyle, kept the original name. For some reason Coonrod changed the spelling. At least that is the info I got.
Coonrod was born March 16, 1766 in Germany or maybe NC after his parents came to America. He died October 14, 1849 in Fentress, TN. His wife's name was Mary b.
April 13, 1769 and Died June 18, 1834. Coonrod had a brother that we know of by the name of Richard Poyle. He didn't change the spelling. If I can hep any further, let me know.
