I have been trying for some time to trace the ancestors of my GG Grandmother, Margaret Power, without any success. She was born in 1831 in Waterford, Ireland and married John Trimmings, who was born in Hull, Yorkshire and christened on the 19 9 1827 in Startforth, Yorkshire. He was a soldier in the 55th Foot, who was probably stationed in Ireland prior to the birth of their first son in 1858, after having been been wounded during the Crimean War. They were married before 1858, probably in Ireland as there is no sign of any marriage certificate in the English Marriage Registers. They had three children, William Dacca Trimmings, born, 1858, Aldershot, Hampshire, Mary Margaret Trimmings, born, 1861 and Richard John Trimmings, born, 1865, all in Surrey, the latter two in Farnham, Surrey. I would greatly appreciate any help.
