Always give a timeframe to your ancestors. There were many. many Richard Powells. I haave a couple in my line. My richard married an elizabeth Crews.; circa 1708- 1760. With the location of Kentucky you sould get the book; "The Powells of Virginia and the South". Page 566 "Abstracts of Wills. 1685-1702 / William Powell gives to his sons Richard and Thomas Powell 100 acres next to Benjimin Chew." This was in Ann Arundle County, Maryland.
Regards; Elton
