First of all i would like to say hiya.
The Powe family i am a descendant of originally came from Devon, in the south of England(Great Britain)near Cornwall.

I also know that part of my family emegrated to i think Boston leavin from Plymouth with the pilgrim fathers about 200 years ago now. I also know my great great grandfather fought in the boar war.
Rear Admiral Richard Powe who is buried in Winchester Cathedral is also a distant relative of my family.

To mine and my family's noledge the name originated in France.

Which are your descendants as I have a list of Powe's from around the worl including around 40 from Louisiana.
I also have a copy of the Powe coat of arms as well, all this features in a book of the Powe's published by Halbert's Family Heritage 3687 Ira Road Bath, Ohio 44210
whether it's been updated i could'nt say as i know there are alot of changes in my close family since we purchased this book in 1992

I hope this information has helped you.

yours Gareth M Powe.
