Hello,
I am the adopted son of Ernest Henry (Leon and Rosa da Lima La Fleur) and Virginia (Charles Uldaric and Margaret Carolan) Milord. I have been researching this family for
about 20 years and have identified every immigrant ancestor and found details back in France or Ireland. I am still
interested in researching my adoptive family.
I am now interested in learning about my birth mother
Estelle Pouliot and her family. I imagine a lot of our
ancestral lines will coincide. I was adopted in July, 1944
at Cook County, Illinois by the above Ernest and Virginia
Milord Cirou. My birth name was Phillipe Pouliot (not
Philip) My parents retained the Philip but gave me the first name Joseph. I have the adoption papers. I have
attempted to identify Estelle. I have had some hunches
people have helped me; but I have not found anything
definite.
I suspect I was born in Canada, probably near Windsor
Ontario and that my aunt who was a nun at St. Mary's Academy
and her community were instrumental in my parents obtaining
a child. From my aunts and uncles I have learned that my
arrival was a complete surprise. Some people have suggested
that my mother may have been a religious. One of the nuns
at St. Mary's Academy, Sr. Louise was always unusually
sollicitous of me. I suspect this is where my roots are; but
nothing has ever been proved--although the sisters have
tried to find out.
