Jack, thank you for replying to my message.
The Potters (William and Ellen M.)were living with Nathan J. Chase and his wife in 1860. Both the Potter female AND the Chase's youngest child are shown to have the name "Ellen M.".
Considering both were named "Ellen M.", I wonder if the elder Ellen M. was related (an aunt?) to the baby Ellen M.
