~ Phoebe (Potter) Morris and Walter Morris ~
Married, Wednesday evening, at the residence of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. C.E. Potter, Lamoni, Iowa, Miss. Phoebe Potter to Mr. Walter Morris. Promptly at 8 o'clock p.m. as the wedding march was being played by Miss. Evelyn Gurley, Miss. Phoebe Potter and Mr. Walter Morris descended the stairs and took their position in the parlor under a beautiful arch of evergreens arranged for the occasion. As the strains of the wedding march died away, Reverend Z.H. Gurley stepped forward, and said the short, but expressive words that made them one for life.
Miss. Potter is one of Decatur County's bright and intelligent young ladies, highly esteemed by all who know her, having many friends in this county that wish her a bright and happy future. The bride was handsomely attired in a cream wool dress trimmed in silk lace and satin. The groom, Mr. Morris, is but lately a resident of Lamoni having come from Indiana. He is a genial young man and comes highly recommended as a gentleman of high moral character. We bespeak for him success. He has made many friends since his arrival in Lamoni, who extend hearty congratulations. The groom was dressed neatly and stylishly in the conventional suit of black.
The happy couple were the recipients of many useful and beautiful presents, the gifts of their many friends. May joy, happiness and prosperity ever be theirs, is the wish of all.
