Epsabeth Potter of Memphis, TN, 1861
Seeking info on Epsabeth Potter and her brother, John, of Memphis, TN. Epsabeth born 1846. Parents came from England, date unknown. Her mother's maiden name was Kendall. Both parents died when Epsabeth was young. She was raised by an uncle, Peter Kendall, and his wife, Selena, a hatmaker. Selena died 1903 and is buried in Elmwood Cemetery in Memphis. Peter died abt. 1871. Yellow fever? Epsabeth married Samuel D. Harper, a Union prisoner of war in Arkansas. They lived in Ohio, Iowa, and Oklahoma and are buried in the Red Top Cemetery in Quinlan, OK. John moved to southern Illinois. One daughter was Epsy (Epsabeth) Potter Cavitt. Does anyone recognize this family?
