Hi, I am still trying to locate my creek indian family. James Poston who was, according to 1850 and 1860 census,
from south carolina. On one his mom is Currie and the other Frances. James born abt 1800 and he is married to Elizabeth Leach. In 1850 an 1860 they live in Florida.

I am interested in the James Poston listed as a mulatto. Where is he located in a census. It is possible they were using only moms name. Also may have been Yuchi who intermarried with Creeks in nw Fl. James Poston had a Eastern Creek# of 11205. My gggrandma, his daughter was Charity Poston who married Noah Harjo Macks.

Thanks,

Deanna
