Hi, Mary:
No, I am not claiming a connection to the Marion County SC Poston family. Anne Gallagher may be. I have no proof of that connection. I do not claim connections without at least one piece of evidence and even at that, I know better than to not take that with a grain of salt.

What I do have is a Samuel Poston in Marlboro County, SC in the 1800 census. He is between the age of 26 and 44, making his birth year between 1756 and 1774. This Samuel is still in Marlboro County, SC in the 1810 & 1820 census'. Then he is in Chesterfield County, SC in 1830 & 1840 census'. I can not find him anywhere after that. The 1840 census has his age as between 90-100. This would put his birth year between 1740 & 1750. I do not even claim that this Samuel Poston is the father of my John Poston born ca 1795 married to an Elizabeth born ca 1811. I have him in my database as only a possibility because of the census. I have said all a long that this Samuel Poston was tentative and that I was trying to find more information on him.

When was Samuel Poston married to Elizabeth Coleman born? I do not know very much about the Marion County, SC Poston family. I have looked at them before, actually quite a few times, and find no connections. I have found a Samuel Poston in the 1840 Marion County, SC census age 20 to 30, making his birth year between 1810 & 1820. I do not believe this is the same Samuel as mine.

Let me know what you think.
Thanks a million,
Dale Lynn

PS I appoligize for taking so long to respond.
