Thank you for answering. That is just the point!! There were more than two Poston Families that came over about the same time and in those days the names were used repetitiously. John being the more commonly used. I believe they used the Bible to find names as that was about the only book most families had in their possession. However, the first Poston I have found records of in South Carolina was named William in 1737 AND he came from London. John Poston did not appear until later.

I would just like for someone besides myself to realize this fact and do a little research on their own. Perhaps we could break down those brick walls.
