Dear Judy,
I am also a Postle researcher stuck in my roots, but maybe I can give you a hand. I trace my roots back to Ashton-under-Lyme in Lancashire in 1858 with my great, great grandmother Sarah. She and my great grandfather emmigrated from there sometime around the turn of the century to settle in Rhode Island in the mill district. Sarah's parents were George and Mary (Thornely)Postle. According to relatives that have traveled there, there are still Postles living in Lancashire today.
Another lead for you would be researching occupations-Find the job skill and maybe you'll find the roots. Look in voting records and birth registrations-what did they classify these parents as? There are also Postle researchers out in the Midwest in the Ohio areas as there are Postle populations there. Let me know how you make out and if you are related.
