Donald gret to hear from you. I grew up in Seneca, Nebraska. David M. Posten and his second wife Melissia H. are buried there. Whereas your Felix Elmer Posten was Davids brother he also had a son named Felix Elmer Posten b.8 Oct 1871 D. 1 Jul 1957 who is also buried in Seneca.
Here is the story on the Neely connection. David's sister Rebecca Susan Posten married John J. Liston they had:
1. Laura B. Liston b. 1862
2. Ida Virginia b 1863 married Allen J. Bever
John J. Liston died sometime around the end of the Civil War. As a widow Rebecca married Dr. William J Neely. 17 Aug 1867. They and the step-children homesteaded about 9 miles from Kearney, Nebraska. About the same time David M Posten's first wife Julia passed away and by the 1880 census David and his children were living with the Neely family. David eventually Married his second wife Melissia H. and they settle in Seneca, Nebraska. My ggrandmother is Amanda b.19 Mar 1871 Webster, West Virginia. a daughter from the first marriage. I have quite a lot about David's tree. You can check my database at rootsweb database devinewon. I would like any assistance in cleaning it up that you may have.
