Postelwait,Richard Nevenden, Eng. d.1831

Seeking info on Richard Postelwait, an evangelical episcopal minister, Rector of the Parish, who lived in Nevenden, Essex Co., England. He moved from Nevenden in Essex to Roche in Cornwall, England, after the death of his first wife to marry an unknown second wife. Rev. Richard used the Olney collection of hymns in his church services, which identifies him as an evangelical preacher. He is said to have been a friend of the poet, William Cowper 1731-1800, who was a collaborator in the composition of the Olney Hymns. Rev. Richard died in 1831

m. Susan Meade b.? d. 1799

they had three children
1) an eldest son who died in Roche. There is an inference in the sources that this eldest son died as a result of some negligence by Richard's second wife, although, their emotions may have controlled their thinking.
2) Samuel F., the middle initial may be for "Field", Emigrated to the U.S. with his brother, James in 1818
3) James 1792 - 1867

Richard did have children by his second wife.

Any info to help with the search for information on this family would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you, Betsy
