Minn. Lakewood Cemetary Postel Monument
In the August 22, 2000 Minneapolis Star Tribune there is an article on the various monuments in Lakewood cemetery.There is a picture of the POSTELmonument.Script in the article reads:"First burial: Anna Postel, age 35, 1902.Who's there: Anna, the wife of Minneapolis grocer John Postel, died of peritonitis, an abdominal infection.the family's grocery was at 239 4th Ave. S.; they lived around the corner on Washington Ave, just across from the then-new Milwaukee Road Depot.Anna left a son, Claus and a daughter, Edith.Edith Postel Lind died in childbirth at 24; her premature infant, who lived less than a day, is buried next to her.Claus, a World War I veteran, died in 1921 at 28.John remarried; he and his second wife, Annette, were in their 70's when they died in the l930's."
