Jemima Post Hoskins, 1803-1850, Lewis Co. NY

I am researching this Jemima Post...trying to verify who her parents were.

I have had several communications, and have seen online material, that say that Jemima was the daughter of Josiah and Lydia (Platt/Platts)Post, who went from CT to Lewis County, NY around 1803. I have never seen, in any listing of this Josiah's children, a child named Jemima. One online source...can't remember which at the moment..said that Josiah's mother's name was Jemima Hurd...so having a daughter by that name would seem logical. So..why is she never included in his list of children? She apparently would have been born about the time of their move to NY, but no indication of which state.

The Jemima I am researching [for a friend..not my relative]married Cyrus Hoskins...date unknown. She died 20 May 1850, and is buried in Turin Cemetery, Lewis Co. NY.

If anyone can provide some proof of Jemima's birth, and the name of her true parents, I would be very grateful. Thanks.
