My great grandmother,Eliza Funk, came to U.S. and married in 1873 Bloomington,Ill.John Seif.....every census from 1880 to 1920 gives birthplace as Prussia or Germany, as did his......her obituary gives her father as Adam Funk and brothers Walter and Conrad...and a sister CATHERINE POSSELT, Colonge, NJ....there has never been a Posselt family in that area according to all tax records, cemetery, etc. Eliza died in 1936....I believe that it must have been the Cologne in Europe and typesetter at newspaper knew of the NJ city and added the NJ....I have letter after letter from Mays Landing and the NJ vicinity with all stating no record of a Posselt family.Does anyone know of this family?
