Yes - we do seem to have the same Henry Clay (1843 - 1906). CSA records also seem to match. Our records show that he and his second wife were buried in Eastville, Baptist Cementery at Eastville, Ga. in Oconee County, Ga. Maybe there are two markers (since there were two wives and two lineages - married 2 times,. Five children by first wife After her death, married again and had three children) - or is there any question that Eastville and Bogart might refer to the same place? I would love to have a copy of your pictures of the markers and the address / directions to the graveyard. By our records, he was the son of HENRY Clay POSS Sr. and a CHEROKEE Woman (name, details UNKNOWN but I have a copy of a picture of her). The Cherokee woman disappeared and Henry Clay Sr. returned to the Oconee county area with his children. HENRY CLAY POSS, JR. was born September 1843 in Oglethorpe County, Georgia, and died May 29, 1906 in Oconee County, Georgia. He married (1) NANCY MC ELROY in Oconee County ,Georgia. He married (2) NANCY STINCHCOMB November 15, 1888 in Courthouse, Monroe, Ga. Walton Co.,Ga.. After return, he was a policeman at Bogart, Georgia for many years. Married 2 times,. Five children by first wife After her death, married again and had three children. Children of HENRY POSS and NANCY MC ELROY (probably died 1886-1887 ?) are: i. WILLIE POSS. ii. FRANK POSS. iii. EARL POSS. <== my granfather iv. MATTIE POSS. v. JESSIE POSS. Children of HENRY POSS and NANCY STINCHCOMB (died sometime after 1907) are: vi. JAMES POSS. vii. ONI POSS. viii. NIRA POSS.
