Thanks for your response. I have a few comments:

I'm sure that John Sr. (married to Lydia)was the father of a John, Jr. (married to a Perry), based on land records. This is my line. This John Jr was commonly assumed in older research to be the same as Captain John, but this is not likely so, as explained in my earlier message. Another and perhaps better line of descent is posed in another post to my inquiry (the author posed the sequence as: John, Sr whose son Richard was father of Captain John)

I too would like to see Thomas Posey's DNA compared to Washington DNA. Surely there are some descendents out there of George Washington's male relatives who have undergone testing.

If memory serves correctly, John Price Posey was hanged early in his marriage and had no children. We would have to find lineages for either Hanson or St Lawrence.
