I am in need of help trying to figure out where my Charles County Hezakiah Posey fits in to the Posey family. He had two known sons Adam Posey born c. 1803-1861 and John Posey born c. 1807- 1860. They also had one known sister Elizabeth born c1810. Adam and John lived and died in Charles County. I lose track of Hezakiah Posey after the 1810 cesus for Charles County.
I found him in Inventories 1797-1802 for Charles County Maryland-Md F187.C4c48rl page 84 Hezakiah Posey was administrator for William Posey Dec. 13 1803.
He showed up in the 1810 cesus for Charles County Maryland as head of household with several children..
Inventories page 120 CH1804 Vol. 1801-1808 for Charles County Maryland John Warder -minor
A division of property of John Warder Sr. late of Charles County....states Hezakiah Posey-who married Mary Warder
( John Warder Jr's older sister)
Inventories for John Posey--1858-1863 of Charles County page 239- states John Posey of Hezakiah....
In 1805 Hezakiah Posey, Hezakiah Posey and Isaac Adams are witnesses for a Josias Adams of Charles County Maryland-Liber A #12 page 302--11th June 1805...
This Hezakiah drops off the grid after the 1810 time frame.....But his sons are documented as living in Charles County till their deaths of 1860 and 1861....and have not been able to find out anything on his parents.....
Is he somehow connected to the Posey movement to the South? I have seen several other Hezakiah Posey's but the timelines for those do not fit in with the timing on my Hezakiah Posey.....can anyone shed any new light on my puzzle? Any help will be appreciated..
