Ran across a death certificate for Mrs. Susan Evelyn Scales d. 15 JUl 1923 age 80 b. 15 Apr 1843. Father's name Mocraft Posey. Mother's name Sallie Goldin. The 1850 Carroll Co. GA Census has Moncraft Posey's family and shows a Susan age 6, no Evaline. 1860 Census has Evaline age 16 but not a Susan assume they are the same person.
I have been showing Wiley Davis' second wife as Evaline Posey, dau of Moncraft and Sarah "Sallie" Goldin Posey. This Evaline was 16 in the 1860 Haralson Co, GA and age 6 in the 1850 Carroll Co, GA census.
While digging around ran across another Evaline age 16 in the 1860 Haralson Co. Census
based on above I think the Susan Evelyn Scales may be Susan Evaline, dau. of Moncraft but not the wife of Wiley Davis
I think the other Evaline is most likely Wiley's wife. She shows up , age 16, in 1860 Haralson census living with Ceburn Goldenl A sister, Adaline, age 14, living next door with Archable Norton. Another sister, Hulda, age 21, 8 houses down, living with James Whitten . Another sister , Sarah, age 12, next doore living with Samuel Whitten.
The 1850 Carroll Co. GA census has an L. D, Posey age 45 b. in TN and wife , Nancy, age 40, b. in GA with the following 12 children: All born in GA :

Caleb m 16
Tom? m 15
Allen m 14
Wright? m 13
Huldy f 11
Elizabeth f 10
Mandevike? m 8
Amanda f 8
Eveline f 6
Adeline f 6
Sarah f 4
There is a probability this Eveline is Wiley's and they named a daughter Mandy after her sister, Amanda. Haven't located any of the other siblings except Eveline, Adeline, Hulda and sarah in 1850, above
There is a good chance Moncraft and L. D. are brothers having daughters born same year with same Eveline Name.
Can anyone straighten me out on which Evaline/Evelyn is our Wiley Davis' wife ?????????
