Enjoy your trip to France! Sounds great. I spent a lot of time in France when I was in college and loved every moment of it.

Sorry, but I personally can't offer any suggestions. In fact, I hate to say it, but I don't see any reason to do POSEY research in France since there is no established connection of the POSEY family to France.

You'll no doubt get lots of suggestions from people for leads to follow, but England appears to be the place to begin research, not France. There is evidence that FRANCIS POSEY was most likely in England, or at least most likely passed through England briefly en route to America. Beyond that, there is no history, regardless of parroted claims. Anyone who has actually tried to prove Francis's origins has run into a brick wall at this point. And this is one sturdy brick wall that doesn't seem to give an inch!

If I were you, I would question everyone who offers leads to follow in France. Before I would waste a great trip to France buried in a research library, I would ask for documentation that the lead has some credibility and is worthy of your time and effort.

Regardless, have a great time in France!
