Kori,
I failed to comment on part of your post. You asked "I wonder where this man got his information?". From my own experience and from talking to a hundred or more Posey researchers plus reading everything I can find, I can say without a doubt how people are getting this awful information. Everyone is simply parroting genealogical gossip they've picked up somewhere and doing absolutely no genealogical research on the matter. The lie has been told for so long and by so many that it is a "fact" for those who don't do research, and don't want to do research or can't do research, and who don't want to hear anything other than the fabricated grand story of the ancient noble French ancestors. Sorry to sound harsh, but it's time to call it what it is if we are ever to get beyond this mess we call Posey history and build a true and genuine history.
And that can't even begin to happen until we can prove the names of the parents of FRANCIS POSEY of Maryland. The is NO Posey History past the immigrant Francis until that step is completed.
