William FARRAR (not Farraw) received a grant of 2000 acres in Henrico Co., VA on 11 June 1637 for the trasportation of 40 people. One of these was "Fr. Posey." (NOT Poschet) Source: Nell Marion Nugent, "Cavaliers and Pioneers, Abstracts of Virginia Land Patents and Grants 1623-1666," (Baltimore, MD: Genealogical Publishing Co., Inc., 1963), 60. This only means that William FARRAR claimed land in 1637, not that the 40 people were transported in 1637, or even that they were all transported together.

15 Jan. 1647 "Francis Possey demandeth 100 Acres of Land For Transporting himself into this Province in the Year 1640 and 100 Acres more for Transporting one Able Man Servant the Same Year Viz: Jos. Gregory and 100 Acres more by Assignment from John Knowl who Transported himself into this Province 1643 and 100 Acres Assigned from John Villaine who Transported himself into this Province 1646." Source: Liber ABH:10, Patent Series of the Maryland Land Office, Hall of Records, Annapolis, Maryland, microfilm 013064, Family History Library, Salt Lake City, Utah.

16 July 1650 "Francis Posey demandeth fifty Acres of Land in right of his now wife whom he bought of Mr. Fenwick whose Servant she was being for her Transportation into this Province about 7 years Since." Source: Liber ABH:42, Patent Series of the Maryland Land Office, Hall of Records, Annapolis, Maryland, microfilm 013064, Family History Library, Salt Lake City, Utah. She was brought to Maryland (not America) by Cuthbert FENWICK about 1643. She may well have been transported earlier into VA, and from there to MD about 1643.

Benjamin POSEY was NOT a son of Francis. He was a son of John, and grandson of Francis. See a discussion of this on my page below, and also by clicking on John BELAINE's will and discussion there. All the legal records are very clear and specifically show and state that Francis POSEY and wife Elizabeth had only two children, John and Anne.

There are NO records that anyone has found to date that mention Benjamin before 1689, when he had probably just come of age.
