Hi Cousin-
I don't know much about that, but I do know that in order to get a paternal line a male has to do it. To get more about the female line, a female has to do it. Since your Portwood side is maternal you may have to get a swab from a sister or aunt, etc.. but it would only tell the maternal line. Or contact a cousin who is male- etc. You could prolly talk to my dad about that, we all know each other.
I'm a Genealogy nut as well, its fascinating. I wish I could have met my grandfather. He was true blue from what I hear. Here's to Portwood's, cheers.
