Yes, we are related. My great-grandfather (Galveston T. Portwood) was the brother of James Gordon Portwood. James Gordon Portwood was the son of James Harmon Portwood and Sarah Jane Peavy. Both James Harmon Portwood and Sarah Jane Peavy Portwood are buried at Oak Chapel Church Cemetery in Emanuel County, Georgia. James Harmon and Sarah Jane had nine children.

James Gordon Portwood and Addie Chalker Portwood had seven children: Ernest Luther Portwood, Freddie Portwood, James Otis Portwood, Sadie Lou Portwood, Carrie Estelle Portwood, Lonnie Clifton Portwood, and Alma Louise Portwood. Both James Gordon Portwood and Addie Chalker Portwood are buried at Pinecrest Cemetery in Toombs County, Georgia.
