ELBRA or DE ELBRA - is there a Portuguese connection???
Hi. Researching my Elbra ancestors from London in the early 1800s. Family lore states that the origin of the family in England, might have been with the immigration of a Spanish (so perhaps even Portuguese) doctor.
The name Elbra has been spelt many different ways....perhaps someone can tell me if there is a Portuguese surname that might be similar, or a place name that sounds similar.
Any help appreciated. Regards Katharine Kennedy.
