terceira, azores scrimshaw artist Mr. Diaz

When I was in the U.S. Air Force during the mid 1970's I purchased some scrimshaw from an elderly gentleman who I can only remember his last name as being Diaz or Dias.

The nearest town to the air base, I believe, was called Praia. He had his shop on a narrow street that I used to travel going to and from the air base.

If anyone can share any information about this person and his scrimshaw I would be most greatful.

Thanks in advance for any responses.

Emile Leche
