CARRICO--England to America 17th Century

CARRICO is a Portuguese family name with its own coat of arms. The name seems to originate in the central coast. There is a village with the name, Matos do Carrico. Yet, my ancestor, Peter Carrico, arrived in St. Mary's, Maryland in 1674 from England. Anyone with information connecting the CARRICO families of Portugal, England and America, please contact me. I suspect Peter Carrico came from an ancient family of Montemor-o-Novo, near Evora, and there is documentation of four brothers in the family leaving Portugal from 1629-1656 for various parts of the world due to the Inquisition. Thanks. Tim Carrico Weaver
