Manuel Jose Trigueiro
July 30, 1933 - November 25, 2008
Manuel was born in Fazenda Lages das Flores, Azores, Portugal as the youngest son of Antonio and Luisa Gomes. In 1957 found his way to Vancouver, B.C. working for the forest industry. Married Odilia in 1959 and shared and amazing 49 years together.
In 1972 moved to Mackenzie, B.C. with their 3 daughters where Manuel retired in 1992. Odilia and Manuel moved to Terrace in 1992 to build their dream home and be closer to their granddaughter.
Manuel is predeceased by his daughter Terry Lenda, his brothers Joe and Tony, his father Antonio and mother Luisa. He is survived by his wife, Odilia, his daughter Benilde (Brian), daughter Tina Marie (Felipe), granddaughters Lenda Maria and Nicole Elizabeth.
The funeral service was on November 28 at Sacred Heart Parish and a service at the Terrace cemetery was on December 2. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of choice of the donator.
The Gomes family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Fr. Terry BROCK, Catholic Womens League, Dr. Kenyon, Dr. Botha, Dr.
Meyburg, Dr. Strangway and Dr. DeWitt, all of the staff at Mills Memorial Hospital, emergency responders, the crew of Terrace’s BC Ambulance service, the staff at MDS Omenica Lab and Dr. Mark Forgie.
A gratitude of thanks and appreciation to so many friends and neighbors that are too many to name.
He will be dearly missed.
He will be forever in our hearts.
