Answer to query of Stephen Porteus concerning paternal great grandmother. She was an Ellis 'Isabell'born and married to Tom Porteus of Woodlesford West Yorks. Her grandfather or maybe great-grandfather was known as Squire Ellis. His cast iron gravestone can still be seen in Oulton Parish Church, West Yorks.
