Do you know whether Nathan's son Lemuel might be Samuel, since Nathan had a brother Samuel? Did Syvanus = Sylvanus? What was Sonord supposed to be?
Did the 1850 census of Hopewell Twp., Muskingum Co., OH, agree that the parents of Nathan were born in Pennsylvania? If so, it appears that the above might be the sons of Nathan & Hester. How old were Nathan & Hester in 1850?
I don't know whether this might connect to my family. I descend from four generations of men named Peter PORTER of early Maryland.

Nathaniel PORTER who m. Rebecca was also known as Nathan PORTER (2 Aug. 1763 - 8 Aug. 1836) and lived near Ellicott Mills, MD. He was son of Peter PORTER, 5. Nathan had brothers Caleb and John.
Have you found anything to indicate your PORTER family might have lived in Maryland before Pennsylvania and Ohio?
