Elizabeth Latshaw Porter 1825-1910
PORTER Elizabeth Latshaw-May 12 1910- Elizabeth Latshaw Porter, daughter of Samuel Latshaw, was born Sept 9, 1825 near West Freedom, PA, and died at the home of John Johnson in Nebraska, PA, May 3 1910.In 1845 shewas united in marriage to Joseph Porter and until his death 12 years ago they resided in or near Scotch Hill.For a number of years she has been an invalid but through it all she was cheerful and pleasant, grateful to her friends for every remembrance and kindness.For along time she has been confined to her bed and at last the weary body gave up the struggle and as gently as a child she passed away.For more than half a century she was a member of the M.E. church in Scotch Hill.She is survived by her six children, Martha Porter of Nebraska; Rosanna Paton, of Rising Sun, O.; Mary Clark of Mars; Arabella Slater, of Valisca, Texas; Joseph Porter, of Miola, and Robert Porter, of Durhing.Funeral services were conducted at home on Friday morning by Rev. W.O. Calhoun, after which the body was taken to Scotch hill to rest beside her loved ones.
