NATHANIEL--HUGH--HUGH PORTER
I have noticed that many researchers believe the line of descent is from Nathaniel Porter - 1675 - Adams, PA to 1749 - Cumberland Twnsp, Adams, Pa TO Hugh Porter 1713/14 Londonderry, Ulster, Ireland and on down the line.
Does anyone have documentation linking these men together?I have been unable to find any.I am inclined to agree with the conclusion due to the naming factor.
Also why would Nathaniel Porter marry Violet Oglebay ca 1695 and then go to Ireland and stay for 18 years? If he was born in PA then his parents would have been in PA also.I suggest the 18 years in Ireland because his 1st three sons William (1695); James (1697); Hugh (1713/14) were all born in Ireland. His last two sons Nathaniel (1720) and Samuel (1722) were born in Chester, PA.
Does anyone know of any daughters being born to Nathaniel and Violet Oglebay Porter?
Any help or suggestions with this line will be greatly appreciated.I descend from William W. Porter born 15 Oct 1766 Guilford, NC - died 20 Oct 1841 Maury Co., TN; Hugh Porter born 1734 in Orange Co., NC and died 1808 in Abbesville, 96th District, SC.
Thank you all for your time.
