Hi,
According to a large family chart for "New England Planters John, Samuel & Simeon Porter" created by the Kings County, Nova Scotia Genealogical Committee, the parents of Newton Porter b 1815 who m. Rebecca are Amos Porter b 1766 and Lydia Hall.
This line goes:
Gen 1:Samuel Porter d 1761 NS m. Remember Makepeace
Gen 2:Israel Porter b 1743 m. Elizabeth
Gen 3: Amos Porter b 1766 m. Lydia Hall
Gen 4 Newton Porter b 1815 m. Rebecca
This line of Porters emigrated to Cornwallis, Nova Scotia from Connecticut about 1760. Early Cornwallis township no longer exists as such and was split into smaller towns, Kentville, Kings, NS being one of them.
My Nova Scotia Porters descend from Simeon Porter, a collateral line. I hope the above offers you some leads, but I can't guarantee its accuracy, as I didn't research it.
Try contacting: Kings County Historical Society, Old Courthouse Museum, Kentville, NS B4N 2E2, Canada. They have early vital records and archives on these Porters, and I found them very helpful.
