My Great, Great Grandmother was Anna Porteous. She married Thomas Veitch and they lived in Ontario (Canada). I believe her parents to be Samual Porteous (born about 1785 in Roxburghshire) and Euphemia Brunton (born about the same time and place, who migrated to New York state about 1820. They had also a son John. Samual had a sister Janet who also married a Veitch.
Samuals parents I believe were David Porteous and Anne Rutherford and his grandparents John Porteous and Janet Thompson who were married in Scotland about 1741.
Would greatly apprecicate any information related to this family or the Rutherford or Thompson conncect. Also any confirmation that the information that I have is correct.
