Hi Nora,

I have a John Porteous in my tree. He was born in 1827 in Dumfrieshire and was the son of William Porteous and Mary Lormier. His father William was born in 1796 and died 1877.
Williams father was James porteous and mother Agnes Halliday.James was born 1763 and died 1836.
John Porteous had siblings Agnes, james, David, Martha, Mathew , Janet and Mary.
They immigrated to Canada in 1832.
